KENYA RIFT VALLEY FEVER

Kenya- Rift valley Fever Outbreak ( 8 June, 2018) Following the confirmation by the Ministry of Health, Kenya the outbreak of Rift Valley fever on the 8 of June 2018. As of 16 June, a   number of cases has been reported from different parts of the country;   Wajir 24 cases and Marsabit counties   2 cases. The first patient was admitted to a hospital in Wajir County in north-eastern Kenya on the 2 nd of   June with fever, body weakness, and bleeding from the gums and mouth. The patient reported having consumed meat from a sick animal; the patient died the same day. On 4 June, two relatives of the index patient were admitted. Blood samples were collected and sent to the Kenya Medical Research Institute, one of which was confirmed positive for Rift Valley fever on 6 June. Paraguay Has been Declared Malaria Free by WHO, 11 th june 2018. WHO identified Paraguay as one of 21 countries with the potential to eliminate malaria by 2020 in 2016. Through the “E-2020 initiative,” WHO is supporting these countries as they scale up activities to become malaria-free. Other E-2020 countries in the Americas include Belize, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico and Suriname.    PAHO has accompanied Paraguay in the crusade of malaria elimination since the beginning,” said Dr Carissa F Etienne, Director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), WHO regional office for the Americas. “This is a powerful reminder for the region of what can be achieved when countries are focused on an important goal, and remain vigilant after achieving that goal. Nipha Virus

Nipah virus : People in kerala have more relaxed mind after 30th may, for there is no casualty since then. Health officials in Kozhikode and Malappuram, districts most affected by the Nipah virus infection in Kerala, are more relaxed that the outbreak has been controlled, exactly a month after the first suspected casualty was reported. There 16 recorded deaths due to the outbreak of the infection, except a 23-year-old person by name Mohammad Sabith, considered the 'index' case who passed on, on the 5th of May 2018. But his samples were never sent for testing, so the cause of his death was not ascertained. Effect of poultry to human Can poultry really have a negative effect on humans. On June 8, 2018  up to 124 people in 36 states has been recorded sick in the  outbreaks linked to a contact with live poultry farms built within leaving environment, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported this on Friday. Twenty-one people have been hospitalized. No deaths have been reported. Then a bout one-third of the patients are children younger than 5years.
